Dan Poelman

Dan joined Capstone in 2022 as the Chief Financial Officer and brings a variety of experience in finance, accounting, and technology. He has always held an interest in the investment management space and is excited to apply his skills and learning in this area.

Dan started his Bachelor of Business degree at Providence College near Winnipeg, Manitoba and completed that degree with a focus in accounting at Trinity Western University in 2008. From there he went on to work for KPMG in Burnaby, BC, where he earned his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 2010 and worked primarily with privately held businesses delivering assurance and tax services. Dan transitioned from KPMG to progressively more complex industry positions before coming to work for Capstone.

At Capstone, Dan is responsible for financial management, planning, and internal and external reporting, as well as corporate and tax structuring of the firm and its funds. Dan is also involved in risk management and the overall strategic direction of the firm with the senior leadership team.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and family, DIY projects of any size, and being outside.
