Your Wealth Matters

WHAT KINDS OF INVESTMENTS SHOULD I BE CONSIDERING?

With great wealth comes great responsibility, but also incredible opportunity.  We have been blessed to work with a client base that, for the most part, wishes to be good stewards of the wealth they have been entrusted with.  They recognize that their assets can be used as a way to bless others.  If you similarly find yourself in this position and wish to put good stewardship at the forefront of your financial goals, it is important to make this desire known with your Portfolio Manager.  Hopefully you have found a Portfolio Manager who is aligned with your goals and principles; that is invaluable.  But if not, they should nonetheless be able to keep you accountable in helping you to achieve your goals, whatever that looks like to you.

At Capstone, we believe that we need to effectively manage the resources that God has provided to us and to our clients for His glory.  When clients are equally convicted that God does indeed own it all, we can work together to figure out how much is actually needed in order to meet the day to day needs.  The first step is being open to this part of the conversation because it can sometimes involve getting out of our comfort zone.  Once we have established needs versus wants and carved out a path to meet our needs, anything over that is for blessing others.  This is both a time of contemplation and prayer as to where God would use you.  In the past, we have successfully helped clients establish a Legacy Foundation or open and contribute to an RESP for the grandchildren or great-grandchildren, as examples.  This gives us great joy to participate in these God-honouring endeavours.  To us, heeding God’s call to give and serve faithfully represents good and authentic financial stewardship.

“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous.” - Proverbs 13:22
